Brand Activation

Robb, a brand from the stables of PZ Cussons has started to leverage its sponsorship of Nigeria’s top flight league, the Nigeria Premier League (NPL).

Back in August, the brand signed a deal with the NPL as “Official Partner.”

“Robb has provided the best relief from aches and pains for almost 50 years. This sponsorship arrangement with the NPL allows the Robb brand to extend this relief to all Nigerians via pure enjoyment and development of the game. We have some exciting plans ahead for the brand and the NPL can play an important role in this,” Mark Knower, marketing manager, Robb, PZ Cussons Nigeria, said when both parties sealed the agreement, in August.

Pitch panels were deployed during last Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash between Sunshine Stars and Dolphins, which was shown live on SuperSport (SS9), the Official Broadcast Partner of the NPL.

Sportsbrandsnigeria.com reliably gathered that live broadcast of matches by SuperSport is one of the reasons that boosted the decision of Robb to partner the NPL.

Interestingly, the match turned out to be good advertisement of the NPL and its partners.

Both teams were at their best and five great goals were scored on match day.

Robb used former Nigerian international, Julius Aghahowa, as celebrity brand ambassador in 2004.
